Weeks of Jan 14 & 21st

Making muffins..my two little helpers!
Things are slow moving this January, there is still so much going on and we are doing so much outside the home, twice a week I have a "stay at home" day where we literally don't leave the house except for P.E. outside play or walks. I love these days there is a lot to do that day so it's not a "rest" day by any means...but really once you have children are there ever "rest" days???
I worked today and last sunday which leaves little time to blog. So here I go slamming two blogs into one.

For Science we have been working on plants and animals, what they need to live. As well as we talked and watched videos about global warming, wormwood astroid (interesting topic for a 5 year old) , and of course our growing baby. Isaac is back at his body anatomy books, he is fascinated with the body... this week we are driving and he says "Mom, do you know that a part of my body is called the epidermis? " I can't believe his little desire to learn about something that I would never expect him to be interested. :)

Counting and color matching pompoms
Math- We have been working on our Right start math, working on partitioning and recording tens. He is really liking partitioning. I think we will start to work on partitioning up to 20 this week.

My boy doesn't love to print but he's doing well. We do a lot of mini books which he does enjoy and doesn't realize that we are practicing our printing skills as well.

We also started a Thankful book this week, every day after bible and our devotions we talk about what we are thankful for, then we record it in our books. I originally thought we would do a 30 days and see if he enjoys it and he's been asking to do it on the weekends so we might keep it around to build gratitude.

Isaac's continues to develop is understanding of prayer and his relationship of God. He tells me often of things or people that he's prayed for. He told me last week that he prayed to God that he would love him forever and he said he actually felt God's heart when he said it. (aww.... brings tears to my eyes.)
Thankful books!

Rivercity Gymnastics

This past week was literacy week, so we participated in some of the activities. We visited Rivercity Gymnastics, played at the local children's museum, and joined in on the fun at the literacy festival.

We are always doing some sort of craft, most of the time it's what they want to do and it's called free craft and I end up with the huge mess :)
This was string painting.

Hard working boys digging and building obstacle courses.
Along with outside time, walks, swimming, dance, gymnastics we are constantly doing something that will rid them of their energy!! heehee!
